Students were given a 11 question multiple-choice pre-test to test prior knowledge and provide
a basis of comparison.

The Alien Abduction final assessment project to test understanding was explained and web addresses

Tuesday:

Students began the Recognizing the Steps of Mitosis and Meiosis, beginning with engage and ending with explain

The teacher assisted when necessary
Wednesday:

Students completed the Recognizing the Steps of Mitosis and Meiosis lesson beginning with elaborate and ending with evaluate

Students decided what their final project would look like (model, flip book, etc.)
Thursday:

Students observed a crossing over demonstration that was done by the teacher

Students wrote a description of what they thought was happening
3.
Students shared their descriptions with the class
4.
The teacher repeated while verbalizing the descriptions from the students

Students completed a Vocabulary Assessment

Students used the remaining class period to work on projects
Friday:

Students individually answered three critical thinking questions (listed below)

Students consulted their peers about the CTQ for 10 minutes

Students submitted answers to the teacher before she reviewed the answers with the entire class
